Enzymes are Bio Catalysts which increases the Bio chemical reaction within the cell without undergoing any change.They are basically proteins in nature consisting of amino acid sequence and their function is to convert certain nutrients which are not assimable by the cell into assimable form for the animal to absorb from the feed material.
In poultry, the birds cannot easily digest the polysaccharides and proteins from plant source as they do not have the required enzymes for degradation. About 85-90% of poultry feed constitutes plant material, which are mainly in the form of fibers, which are not easily digestible, hence there is a need for enzymes from external source to be supplemented.
